Stephen J. Mitskavich
I have devoted my lifetime to artistic pursuits in the areas of photography, design, drawing, painting and sculpture. My work can be found in many private collections, the World's Erotic Art Museum and was integral to the Senses Exhibit of the former Cleveland Health Museum. As a point of interest, I always wondered where my six foot in scale Hand, Eye, Ear, Nose and Mouth projects landed after their stay in the museum ended? I did see the hand in an Auto Commercial before it was permanently installed as a part of an interactive display. My journey in Art traveled through Lakeland Community College, Cleveland State University, Garfield Senior College / Lake Erie College, University of Southern Illinois for a Summer workshop of all you can produce foundry work in a week's time, the Fairmount Center for the Arts and the Valley Art Center. Travels across Canada, the United States, Caribbean Islands, Hawaii, and in South America the Sacred Valley of Peru including Machu Picchu and Ollantatambo have influenced my spirituality and artwork. Currently we call the Solar powered community located in SWFL, Babcock Ranch home.
I am thankful for being blessed with many abilities. I understand that with ability comes the responsibility to make a positive difference. I believe to thrive, equality, joy, growth, knowledge, passion and the unconditional love of humanity must be the light emanating from the heart, mind and soul connection we have with the Divine.
