Steve Scribner - Photographer

The world of travel and the experience of seeing wonderful landscapes, wildlife, and nature are my focus in photography. I started in 1971 when my mother passed along my father’s SLR camera upon his death. It was always dad who shot the pictures – and then it became me who needed to learn how to see and capture my own experiences. I had a young family at the time, and they were a natural bunch of subjects, but I was also intrigued by what I was seeing when I traveled as part of my work.

I won my first major contest with the Porsche company in Germany in 1984 with a shot that I captured some years before, in 1973, at the Laguna Seca Raceway in California. It was published worldwide on the cover of Porsche’s calendar and was awarded a trip to Germany at their expense. I had won several smaller contests before that, but nothing else was significant to this extent.

My primary profession helped me sustain and support my family for 50 years, but I continued to refine my vision so that when I retired in 2019, I was able to concentrate on my love of capturing images, editing, and showing them online to the world.

I founded my photography company a number of years back. I call it my Wanderer’s Passion. I was able to license the domain and build my website at where I periodically post new images as well as a Newsletter of my travel plans.

My website is my way to share. Perhaps my images will help you remember your own thoughts, and emotions about somewhere you have been (or desire to go). I have partnered with Photo Art Pavilion to help me offer and fulfill my work in large-scale prints to decorate people’s homes and businesses. When a visitor comes to my website and chooses my Gallery, it links directly to PAP. You may come and browse, and any orders will be printed onto your choice of materials, mounted, and shipped free to anywhere in the USA.

All images print without the Photo Art Pavilion watermark.
