Date: April, 2017
Location: Great Ocean Road, Victoria Australia
Description: This the most famous feature of Australia’s Great Ocean Road. The series of giant sea stacks are the result of the erosion of sedimentary rock over millennia. The stacks reveal layers of rock dating back over a hundred million years. I visited the spot a sunrise, but it was much more magical at sunset. The light may be harsh, but it gave the scene an ethereal quality reminiscent of a motivational calendar.
