Description: The Benedictine Monastery in Ettal was started in 1330, founded by Emporer Ludwig IV of Bavaria. Ettal is between the town of Oberammergau and Garmish-Partenkirken. The interior style and decoration are excellent examples of Baroque religious architecture in the region. The abbey is open, free to the public.
