Description: Belém Tower, officially the Tower of Saint Vincent is a 16th-century fortification located in Lisbon that served as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for Portuguese explorers and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. The Tower of Belem was constructed in a castle style and is protected by a drawbridge. It is situated on the edge of the Tejo Estuary and was intended to protect the vital shipyards.
