Description: This photographic artwork began with a negative from a photograph I took at the Paris bird market, from which I used the negative to make a cyanotype print with the addition of layers of actual flower petals in the process. Cyanotype printing, which uses chemicals and UV light, dates back to 1842. The repetition in this composition was inspired by the work of Andy Warhol's Pop Art, yet not an imitation. It offers a one-of-a-kind multi-colored palette and modern abstract motif that represents the wonder of birds and flowers that help make up our natural world.
