Description: The Jamaican Doctorbird spends a lot of time at rest, but they also often perch with their backs to the wind - both unusual for hummers. Tey keep their backs to the wind to better defend their territories as other birds will approach upwind, and they don't have to continually feed when there is such an abundance of food available. This particular bird's tree had hundreds of huge hibiscus - so there is definitely no shortage of food there.
