Description: This is the Burlington Northern - Sante Fe Des Moines River Bridge over the Des Moines River in Ottumwa, Iowa. This bridge was formerly know as the Burlington Northern Four Mile Bridge. A Warren truss (equilateral) bridge is engineered by using a weight-saving design composed of equilateral triangles. Originally built in 1903, the BN Four Mile Bridge was replaced in 2002 with the BNSF bridge.
