Location: East Hampton, NY, USA
Description: Whenever I was passing through East Hampton I would often make a point of driving past the Maidstone Golf Club. In the early morning or late afternoon a fog would often pour in from the ocean and create a beautifully relaxing scene. This day was no exception and just as I began to capture my first image I saw a single golfer approaching from the left. This was rare as golfers used caddies at the course but it was off season. He had just teed off and was crossing the natural bridge heading towards the flag off in the distance. I waited until he was in the viewfinder and got off this one image. It was called the “quintessential golf photo” by the International Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine Florida and was awarded First Place and Golf Photo of the Year by them in 2012. It was on display at the Hall of Fame for the entire year.
