Description: Croatia is a photographic wonderland. We spent three weeks there in 2014 starting in Dubrovnik and traveling to Hvar, Split, Zagreb and Rovinj. For me, travel is directly related to photography and I love the prospect of getting to places where I've never been to photograph the rural and urban landscapes. Photographing in the early hours or late at night are my preferred times for two reasons. This is when the best light occurs and there are fewer crowds. During mid-day I am typically standing shoulder-to-shoulder with dozens of other people looking for their holiday “grab shots”. At 5:30am and after 11pm the streets are much quieter and I find it easier to “get in the zone” and find compositions that are less typical.
