Description: Uluru is renowned for its color changes as the Sun moves lower in the sky. Hundreds of photographers from around the world line up each night waiting for the sun to set. With clouds blocking the setting sun my wait seemed in vain. I even broke down my tripod and began packing the car when the clouds broke allowing the sun’s ray to hit Uluru directly. Fortunately, I was able to get back into position and was rewarded with a number of extremely varied pics. In this shot the oblique rays of the setting sun light up the red sandstones of Uluru creating this amazing illumination.
