Description: Photographic rules are made to be broken. A general photographic principle is that you should avoid placing your focal point dead centre and to use the “rule of thirds” for placing your focal point within the image. Not always. In this case, it is the central focus and symmetry that is the strength of the image. Everything is in balance and that is what appeals to me about this image. The clay roof tiles and the triangular wall sections are in complete symmetry with the front pigeon providing the asymmetrical focal point.
