Description: The sea is timeless. It is most often seen in the split-second blink of a crashing wave. Yet it can be imagined with an unblinking meditative eye, an eye folding each crashing wave into the next, seeing those waves as simultaneous rather than sequential. Paradoxically, the sea then becomes—not mad and chaotic—but serene and peaceful. This September afternoon photo demonstrates such serenity.
