The selected juror for this abstract virtual exhibit is contemporary art photographer Kathleen Massi, who’ll meticulously review each submission to curate a collection of the most outstanding and thought-provoking abstract art photographs. The selected works will be exhibited virtually, allowing art enthusiasts and photography lovers from around the world to experience the magic of abstract art photography from the comfort of their home.

SELECTED JUROR: KATHLEEN MASSI
Kathy is a self-taught contemporary art photographer based on Long Island’s north shore in New York. Her photographic practice falls between fine art and documentary photography. Kathy prefers to create projects or series with an idea, metaphor, or story behind them. She approaches the development of her body of work from a personal or emotional connection. Kathy enjoys capturing the thoughtful aspects of nature, life, people, and objects. “I strive to reflect the feelings of things in the mood of my work whether it is a portrait, abstract, still life, or landscape.”
Massi’s work has been exhibited in New York City and Long Island, including fotofoto gallery, Alex Ferrone Gallery, Guild Hall, Salmagundi Art Club, Art League of Long Island, Gallery North, Long Island Museum, Islip Art Museum, Huntington Art Center and Long Island Photo Gallery. Her incredible images can be found in magazine publications and corporate and private collections across the United States.
This open call is for all who have a passion for photography.
If you are a professional photographer or someone who enjoys photography as an art form, we want to see your best work. Whether you prefer to capture the scene with a DSLR, a point-and-shoot, a smartphone, or anything else, we are looking for creative images and interesting perspectives that fulfill the theme for this exhibit.

Virtual Juried Exhibit Reception will be held online on
Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at 7 PM EST via ZOOM.
The virtual reception will also be recorded and posted on our Photo Art Pavilion YouTube Channel. The selected juried entries will be on display in perpetuity on PhotoArtPavilion.com.
EXCELLENCE IN PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS:
First Place: $150.
Second place: $125.
Third place: $100.
Honorable Mentions: $35.
REQUIREMENTS (please read carefully):

Total Entry Images: Maximum: 5
Total Exhibit Images: Maximum: 3
Entry Fee: $35.00
- All submissions must be free of any watermarks or branding.
- Photos should be in digital format, ideally in JPEG format.
- Submit up to 5 digital images at 72 dpi, with the largest edge being 1500 – 2000 pixels long.
- The filename must contain the image title.
- Submissions will be accepted through November 3rd, 2023.
- Only photographically based works depicting the theme will be considered.
- The entry fee is $35 for five images to be considered and is non-refundable.
- If your image(s) are selected for this open call, you permit Photo Art Pavilion to display the artwork on our website and social media outlets. All images in this show will be displayed with the title and your name assigned to it.

NOTIFICATIONS:
All submitted artists will be notified via email by the end of the day on November 3rd, 2023.
- Excellence In Photography Awards will be announced during the live ZOOM reception
- Social media winner announcement posts will be sent out after the live ZOOM reception concludes.
- Award winners will receive an email informing them of an award in their name.
- Award payments will be mailed to the winners after the live ZOOM reception date; November 15th, 2023.
